Advocacy
Telling the story of homelessness is one of the most important things we do. We work to share with our community relevant information, statistics, and current issues. Our work is rooted in believing housing is a human right and we collaborate to design responses to injustice. We advocate to our leaders at the local, state, and federal levels concerning policy and funding that impacts our partners and our collective work. We seek to advance affordable housing and create opportunities for people to thrive so that everyone has a safe place to call home.
Education
Providing quality training for our partners is key to ending homelessness. Being knowledgeable on evidence based best practices and well trained on our collaborative systems is how we are all able to “row in the same direction” and provide the most effective services in our community. We seek to offer diverse educational opportunities from basic 101 Intro courses to multi-day conferences and “train-the-trainer” trainings. We working to move to a new level by adding grow and in 2019 we will be offering a wider variety of programing and launching online options in 2020.
Collaboration
The core of our Coalition is found in partners working together. We offer a unique collaborative platform for individuals and organizations to innovate solutions to the barriers between people and stable housing. Together we change systems and create pathways to house people. The key word is together. A center piece of our collaborative work is the Coalition’s leadership in CARES, our cross-border homeless response system.
Data & Research
Data is a critical part of ending homelessness through systems change and serving as a tool to educate the community. Data helps us find solutions by identifying issues, informing decisions, and evaluating what is working. Our Coaltion is a strong collaborative hub for the diverse sources of data in our community. We publish a data rich State of Homelessness report annually for the purpose of better advocacy and to fuel innovative solutions.
